Enjoy rural tranquility and exclusive access to the 65 ha (160 acres) Binicalsitx Estate, tucked away in the quiet countryside, south of the historic town Alaior. This charming self-catered casita offers an off-season escape during the months of March, April, October and November. La Casita is a beautifully restored outbuilding, sleeping four, and sits within the grounds of Binicalsitx, a traditional finca, dating back to the early 18th century.
La Casita combines rustic charm with thoughtful modern touches. Inside there are two bedrooms (twin or double), a shower room and separate loo and a light-filled open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, made all the more comfortable with both heating and A/C throughout. Step outside to your own private terrace, ideal for lazy breakfasts or an evening drink.
Guests enjoy sole use of the Binicalsitx Estate, a sweeping rewilded landscape where quiet paths wind through wildflower meadows and birdsong fills the air. Guests have access to the saline swimming pool (heating available for cooler months), tennis court and outside yoga terrace.
Walking
La Casita, Binicalsitx offers a serene and authentic escape from which to explore this beautiful UNESCO Biosphere Reserve by foot. Winding trails lead through olive groves, wildflower meadows, and ancient stone walls, revealing hidden coves and panoramic sea views. The famous Camí de Cavalls, a historic coastal path, encircles the island and connects charming whitewashed villages, secluded beaches, and heritage landmarks. Explore Menorca’s hidden corners at your own pace, or let our resident guide Vanessa (trailsofmenorca.com) lead you on tailor-made walks showcasing the island’s gentler rhythms and natural beauty.
Birdlife
Menorca is a superb destination for watching birds on migration during both spring and autumn. Around the estate, resident species include hoopoe, stone curlew, scops owl, corn bunting, Sardinian warbler, Cetti’s warbler, bee-eater, turtle dove, Egyptian vulture, booted eagle, red kite and kestrel, along with wall-to-wall nightingales!
On our outings last spring with Javier Mendez (info@menorcawalkingbirds.com), we saw an impressive range of species, including purple heron, squacco heron, Montagu’s harrier, marsh harrier, lesser kestrel, yellow wagtail, fan-tailed warbler, purple swamphen, glossy ibis and pratincole, to name just a few.
What Javier doesn’t know about ornithology isn’t worth knowing. He leads birding groups all over Europe and is an absolute delight to be with, knowledgeable, engaging and endlessly enthusiastic. We thoroughly recommend you book Javier for any bird watching expeditions on the island.

Testimonials
“My walking friend and I had a wonderful stay at La Casita, Binicalsitx. The accommodation is extremely comfortable, with everything you might need. We cooked each evening and loved having breakfast outside looking at the wild flower garden. We also used the pool every day - having a proper heated pool to ourselves after a days walking was amazing! We also spent one whole evening walking around the estate - highlight was spotting 5 tortoises on our way round :).
The location is perfect for walkers. We spent every day walking in a different part of the island and we could drive pretty much everywhere within 30 mins. The walking is fabulous and varied and we fell in love with Menorca. We will definitely be back to stay at La Casita and would highly recommend it as a place to stay.”

“What a privilege to stay at La Casita and have the place to ourselves. We breakfasted en plein air and wandered the estate of an evening, bumping into the resident tortoises as we went. In between times we visited all points of the compass for our daily hike. Everywhere on the island felt within easy reach and we soon realised that this is a perfect location for exploring the island and a fabulous retreat at the end of an active day. Beautifully serene and equipped so well there was nothing more we could wish for.”

“Total privacy; blissful birdsong uninterrupted by audible human disturbance; a stunning sun trap, shared only by the bees and butterflies. A wonderfully relaxing stay in a secluded, simple and very comfortable casita.”

“Your casita is magical. The wild tortoises (3 spotted so far) and wild orchids are incredible. We are simply loving how wild and remote this place is.”
